REVEALED: Arsene Wenger WAS willing to loan out Arsenal players says Uwe Rosler
UWE ROSLER has revealed he held conversations with Arsene Wenger over the possibility of Wigan taking Arsenal players on loan in the January window.
The ex-Manchester City striker has enjoyed a successful spell in charge of the Lactics who are currently ensconced in the play-off spots in the Championship.
Rosler's side take on the Gunners in an eagerly-anticipated FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley on Saturday.
And the German, who admits to being a big 'admirer' of Wenger, held talks with the French tactician over trying to bring some fringe Arsenal players to the DW Stadium on loan.
"I am a big admirer of his work," Rosler added of the Frenchman.
He was very willing to loan out one or two
"He set a revolution in place in English football in many ways. He put his football club in a very good situation for years to come with the new stadium, the training ground, the squad of players he put in place, young players.
"I'm a big admirer of what he has achieved in English football. I had a few conversations with him and his assistants regarding loan players in January and he was very willing to loan out one or two.
"We have a lot of respect for each other. You forget that for 90 minutes; we want to make ourselves proper opposition and make it as hard as possible for them."
Wigan are the current holders of the FA Cup, having beaten Manchester City 1-0 last season.
