Hull's George Boyd charged by FA for spitting at Manchester City's Joe Hart
HULL CITY'S George Boyd has been charged by the FA after allegedly spitting at Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart on Saturday.
Boyd appeared to spit at Hart in the 68th minute of the game following a clash between the two players.
The incident was not seen by match officials but can be reviewed by a panel of former elite referees under a new Premier League pilot project.
The panel will review the incident and make recommendations about what, if any, action should be taken.
Boyd has until 6pm on 19 March 2014 to respond to the charge.
Meanwhile, Hart has avoided punishment for the incident.
Hart was booked by referee Lee Mason for his involvement and the FA has confirmed that - in line with the governing body's own rules - it considers the goalkeeper to have been dealt with.
