Chelsea are unbeaten in the league since December, 13 games, and top the table, but Lambert said: "They are going for the league and the Champions League, the big trophies. We have to try and stop that. We have the ability to hurt them. We've done it before.
"If Christian Benteke, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weiman can keep their form, then we'll give it a go."
Villa played well before losing 2-1 in a controversial game at Stamford Bridge.
"We'll be expected to be turned over, but Chelsea know we can hurt them after the last game. They are one of the best teams in Europe, let alone England, so it will be tough."

Villa hammered Norwich 4-1 in their last game but are still not totally clear of relegation worries and Lambert said: "This Villa team never gives up lightly, that's a great trait to have.
"The feeling is ' If anyone's going to beat us, then they're really going to have to put us down'. There is a desire and a hunger to see games through.
"The expectancy level won't be on us, it will be all on Chelsea because they are trying to win the league and then next week they've got a massive Champions League game.
"We've got ourselves to look after and we know if we can play to our full potential then we can hurt them.

The three strikers I've got in Weimann, Agbonlahor and Benteke, they have been an absolute credit since I've been here. I only look at Chelsea's strikers from afar, I don't know them, but my three, when they are on song, they are a handful.
"They have everything you'd want in footballers, they have the pace , the power, the work rate. With Chelsea, it's not just their front three, it's their team as a whole."
