Ex-Tottenham and Chelsea boss AVB to be brought out of cold by Zenit
EX-TOTTENHAM and Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas could make a sensational return to management, with Zenit St Petersburg in pole position to clinch his signature.
The Portuguese has been out of work since being sacked by Spurs after just 18 months in charge in the wake of the humiliating 5-1 defeat against Liverpool in December.
Some reports had recently suggested that Villas-Boas could be in line to take over from Gerardo Martino at Barcelona with the Catalan giants currently in the unaccustomed position of third in La Liga.
But in a fresh twist, Russia could be AVB's next destination.
According to esteemed Italian journalist Ginaluca Di Marzio, contact has already been established between Zenit and AVB.
It is thought Zenit have made a lucrative offer which would entail a four-year contract and they are awaiting AVB's response.
AVB's tenure at Chelsea was brief, lasting less than a year.
It remains to be seen whether he will be tempted to take up a new challenge in Russia.
