Charlton name Jose Riga as Chris Powell's successor
CHARLTON have named Jose Riga as head coach following the dismissal of Chris Powell this morning.
The 56-year-old took control of the Addicks' training session this morning just hours after the sacking of Powell.
The former Standard Liege boss, who becomes the 23rd man to take permanent charge of Charlton’s first team, will work alongside newly appointed assistant head coach Karel Fraeye.
And Riga is set to take charge of his first game when Huddersfield visit The Valley on Wednesday night.
Charlton currently sit rockbottom of the Championship but have four games in hand and only four points to make up on Millwall, who occupy the spot above the relegation zone.
