Theo Walcott is a doubt for Arsenal's fixture against Cardiff [GETTY]
Arsenal Arsene Wenger Cardiff press conference
Top of the premier league going into the New Year, Arsenal have not been better placed to win their first title since 2004 despite an apparent lack of firepower to support striker Olivier Giroud.
Giroud looks set to miss tomorrow's match with Cardiff at the Emirates because of an ankle injury, leaving Wenger with a choice of Niklas Bendtner or Lukas Podolski up front.
Wenger, however, is happy with his squad: "We are alert if something special turns up but we are not desperate (to buy).

"I am happy with the depth of the squad. It is a pleasure to manage this group, they have a remarkable attitude, a classy attitude."
Arsenal have the best record of any team in the Premiership over 2013 and Wenger added:"It does not mean a trophy but it shows consistency, it means we are going upwards and we have to continue that trend in 2014."
Arsenal also have doubts about Jack Wishere, Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs for today's game against struggling manager less Cardiff while Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are definitely out.
