Liverpool star Steven Gerrard has pain-killing injection to face Germany
LIVERPOOL have been dealt a fitness concern over captain Steven Gerrard after he was given a pain-killing injection in his hip.
Gerrard has been ruled out of England's friendly with Chile on Friday, despite the Three Lions skipper working in the gym yesterday.
But the 33-year-old could be available to face Germany on Tuesday after Roy Hodgson sanctioned a pain-killing injection to help solve Gerrard's hip injury.
In Gerrard's absence against Chile Frank Lampard will captain Hodgson's side, on the night his 100 caps for England are commemorated.
Lampard is carrying a mild cold, but is expected to play after he trained without problem yesterday.
Uncapped Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana is likely to get a run out, as is team-mate Jay Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Kyle Walker has had an injection on an unspecified injury while Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge also missed training due to a bruised foot.
