Cardiff manager Malky Mackay and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho in time-wasting row
MALKY MACKAY has accused Jose Mourinho of hypocrisy in their row over time-wasting.
The Chelsea manager labelled Cardiff ‘time-wasters’ following the 4-1 Premier League win last Saturday.
Mourinho was sent off for his over-the-top complaints towards referee Anthony Taylor .
Mackay rejected the claim, but also highlighted that Mourinho has previous for time-wasting when Martin O’Neill made that same accusation after Celtic’s UEFA Cup final with Porto a decade ago.
Mackay said: “I remember when Jose was manager at Porto a long while back. It was quite an infamous game for that sort of thing. We are all in the same boat in a way.
“When you are frustrated at being sent off it is something else you might blame. But four minutes of stoppage time is a normal, standard amount of time in the second half.
“It is 30 seconds for a substitute and 30 seconds a goal.”
Norwich striker Robert Snodgrass, 26, meanwhile, simply wants a decent night’s sleep after the arrival of his second baby daughter.
He said: “I haven’t been getting much sleep lately, so it’s been difficult. I’m delighted to be a dad again and my partner Denise is obviously helping me as much as she can. ”
