Manchester City's Vincent Kompany OUT of West Ham clash
MANCHESTER CITY will be without captain Vincent Kompany against West Ham on Saturday as the defender is still struggling with a thigh injury.
Kompany suffered the injury against Everton two weeks ago and reports had suggested that the Belgian was in line for a return to action at Upton Park.
However, despite his good progress, City have opted to play it safe and give him more time to recover with the Citizens facing CSKA Moscow in the Champions League next week.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini said: "Vincent is working hard. He is not ready to play but I hope next week he will be."
Meanwhile, Martin Demichelis, who has not featured for City since his summer move from Atletico Madrid due to a knee injury, is in a similar position to Kompany.
Pellegrini said: "Demichelis played last Wednesday 45 minutes for the under-21s.
"I think he is in the same shape as Kompany. I hope that next week both of them could be fit."
