Celtic captain Scott Brown to APPEAL three-match ban
CELTIC captain Scott Brown has been given a three-match ban for his straight red card against Barcelona.
Brown was given his marching orders in the Champions League group game against the Catalan giants when they lost 1-0.
Brown was already aware that he would miss the home clash against Ajax but will now be unavailable for the return game in Amsterdam and the game against AC Milan.
A statement from Europe's governing body read: "UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Committee has suspended Celtic FC's Scott Brown for the next three UEFA competition matches for which he would otherwise be eligible following his dismissal in the UEFA Champions League matchday two fixture against FC Barcelona in Glasgow."
But Brown will now contest the ban.
