VIDEO: Steven Gerrard admits he and Roy Hodgson are under pressure against Montenegro
STEVEN GERRARD claims that both he and Roy Hodgson are under pressure heading into Friday night's World Cup qualifier against Montenegro.
Gerrard knows that, combined with the upcoming game against Poland, the match on Friday will decide England's World Cup hopes as well as his future as captain and Hodgson's as coach.
He said: "The game is so big. There's an awful lot riding on both games, Friday and Tuesday.
"I think the pressure is shared out equally between us both and the whole squad but there's huge pressure on us both."
While England struggled against Montenegro away from home, Gerrard is confident that his side will get a better result on him turf.
He said: "I think at home at Wembley it's a completely reverse scenario. A full house, 90,000 England fans behind us roaring us on to Rio and that's a huge advantage for us to have against Montenegro."
"We believe we've got the ammunition in our squad to break the Montenegrans down."
