Nottingham Forest 3 - Barnsley 2: Darius Henderson’s late show
SUB Darius Henderson’s late header kept Nottingham Forest’s Championship charge on track.
The big striker scored from Andy Reid’s corner in the 84th minute to leave Barnsley still searching for their first points on the road.
It was particularly hard on Barnsley stopper Mike Pollitt, who celebrated his 500th league start with an outstanding performance.
I thought we thoroughly deserved the three points
Forest assistant manager Ned Kelly said: “I thought we thoroughly deserved the three points. We hit the post three times, created numerous chances and had several one on ones with their keeper.”
Barnsley manager David Flitcroft said: “I’m disappointed that we haven’t taken a point but we didn’t deserve to win the game. Mike Pollitt was in excellent form.”
