Charlton 0 - Middlesbrough 1: Lukas Jutkiewicz ends Boro wait
LUKAS JITKIEWICZ ended Boro’s eight months of misery – but left boss Tony Mowbray cranking up his search for more firepower.
The former Everton striker pounced when Charlton’s Yann Kermorgant headed into his path.
He earned Boro their first success since they beat Peterborough 14 away matches ago.
But the win didn’t fool Mowbray, who admitted: “We are trying very, very hard to add quality to our squad. We have bids in at two or three different clubs and hopefully we can find quality that can help kill off and win games.”
Addicks manager Chris Powell was unhappy with a defeat that leaves his side pointless after two games.
“We didn’t perform,” he admitted. “It was a poor goal we conceded and it kind of summed up our day.”
