Chelsea announce Jose Mourinho will return on four-year-contract
JOSE MOURINHO'S dream comeback to Chelsea has been confirmed by the West London club, who have announced the Portuguese tactician will return on a four-year-contract.
Mourinho was expected to be appointed as the new manager of Chelsea by the end of the week after he told a Portuguese TV station that was on the agenda.
However, the Blues have moved early to formally announce Mourinho as the successor to Rafa Benitez, who has taken over at Napoli.
During his successful first tenure at Chelsea, Mourinho won back-to-back Premier League titles amongst a host of other silverware triumphs.
"I am delighted to welcome Jose back to Chelsea," said chief executive Ron Gourlay on the club's official website. "His continued success, drive and ambition made him the outstanding candidate.
"It is our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in the future and Jose is our number one choice as we believe he is the right manager to do just that.
"He was and remains a hugely popular figure at the club and everyone here looks forward to working with him again."
Mourinho will bring Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais with him as part of his coaching staff.
The self-anointed 'Special One' is set to be unveiled at a press conference at Stamford Bridge next Monday,
