Manchester City chief Ferran Soriano leaves door open to Pep Guardiola
MANCHESTER CITY chief executive Ferran Soriano has kept the option open for Pep Guardiola to one day manage Manchester City.
Soriano discussed a number of topics whilst on tour in America with the rest of the Manchester City clan.
Aside from tasking manager-to-be Manuel Pellegrini with five trophies in five years, Soriano left the door open for former Barcelona manager Guardiola to one day take control at Eastlands.
Soriano and director Txiki Begiristain joined the club in 2012 after working together at Barcelona, and the 45-year-old former Spanair chairman believes their working relationship with Guardiola could prove fruitful in the future.
"I know Pep," said Soriano. "Txiki knows Pep. So we don’t need to be in the market for Pep.
"If Pep decided to come to England he would have called us, right? He’s very young, 42 now, and after Germany he probably will come to England."
Guardiola takes over at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this summer, who will contest the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow evening at Wembley.
