Arsenal to duel it out with Borussia Monchengladbach for next Mario Gotze
ARSENAL look set to go head to head with Borussia Monchengladbach in their bid to prise Leon Goretzka.
The 18-year-old has earned rave reviews for VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga second division and has been compared to Mario Gotze.
We reported a couple of months ago that Goretzka had garnered interest from a clutch of Europe's top clubs including Manchester United, Juventus and Real Madrid.
Though United appear to have dropped out of the race for him, Arsenal are still locked in a battle for his signature.
German paper Bild claims Goretzka could fetch around £3m.
He would certainly fit into the Arsene Wenger philosophy of buying young players with vast potential.
Goretzka's manager, Walter Schneck, believes he has a bright future ahead go him.
He said: "I have never seen a 18-year-old who has so much class and desire.
"The boy will find his way into the world's best!"
