Michael Dawson wants to stay at Spurs for foreseeable future
SPURS defender Michael Dawson admits he would like to stay at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future.
Dawson suffered heartbreak on the final day of the Premier League season yesterday when Spurs were pipped to fourth spot by Arsenal by a solitary point.
The 29-year-old forged a solid defensive partnership with Jan Vertonghen this season and racked up 34 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit.
Although Dawson was close to leaving Spurs for QPR last summer after the club accepted a £9million bid, he hasn't looked back since.
Dawson insists he is ready to honour the remaining two years of his current contract and hopes he can stay beyond that when it runs up.
He said: "Hopefully if the manager and the chairman want me for that long, it would be great.
"I never gave leaving Spurs a thought last summer, having been here for eight years."
