Andros Townsend poised for talks over Spurs future
SPURS are set to sit down with Andros Townsend in the coming weeks to discuss his White Hart Lane future.
Townsend was loaned out to QPR in January and has impressed even though he couldn't prevent the Hoops from relegation to the Championship.
The 21-year-old could be given a bigger role next season at Spurs, if Gareth Bale is moved into a more central position.
Harry Redknapp lavished praise on Townsend earlier this month and has tipped him to become a real force in the Premier League.
"He'll be a top player. He gets at people, he attacks you. [Arsenal] paid £10 million for the left-back and he has ripped him apart," Redknapp was quoted as saying by ESPN.
"He is relentless. He just runs at you, runs at you, runs at you. He has been first-class.
"It's difficult for him back at Spurs. You've got [Aaron] Lennon and [Gareth] Bale there, so it will be hard for him to play regularly. He'll have his work cut out.
"But he'll be a good player for Spurs next year. He will go back there a better player. He has proved to himself what he can do. He has proved he can play in the Premier League."
Townsend has netted twice in 11 Premier League games for QPR this season.
