Mark Hughes puts name in hat for Everton vacancy
MARK HUGHES has become the latest name to put himself forward for the Everton vacancy.
The Toffees will be bidding farewell to David Moyes at the end of the season, after he was officially confirmed yesterday as the new Manchester United boss.
A few names have come to the fore in the last 24 hours, with Neil Lennon currently the shortest priced with Coral at 15/8.
But Hughes, who has been out of a job since being sacked by QPR back in November, has expressed his interest in the position.
"I think when one manager leaves there are opportunities for other managers who are currently out of work, which includes myself," Hughes said.
"It's an opportunity for somebody and I back my abilities for most jobs in the Premier League.
"It's a great club; it's a club that I had the fortune to play for and really enjoyed my time there.”
Everton currently sit in sixth in the Premier League table, with two games to play.
