Manchester City meet with agent of Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini
MANCHESTER CITY could be set to replace current manager Roberto Mancini with Malaga tactician Manuel Pellegrini.
Mancini has come under pressure in recent weeks, after Manchester City feebly surrendered their title to rivals Manchester United.
It is expected that the Italian is to face crunch talks with the Citizens board this summer, over his future at the club.
While the nature of those talks may be more positive if Mancini can guide City to FA Cup success over Wigan, club officials have upped the ante by meeting with Pellegrini's agent.
Reports in Spain indicate that director of football Txiki Begiristain met with Jesus Martinez - who represents Pellegrini and a number of prominent players - for lunch in Madrid yesterday.
It is also claimed that the pair met in February in Porto to discuss Pellegrini's future, who overcame the Portuguese side in the Champions League with his Malaga outfit to make the last eight.
Mancini's job security remains uncertain, and Pellegrini appears to be edging closer to the City hot-seat, although PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti has also been mentioned.
