Tottenham and Chelsea face competition for Joao Moutinho
TOTTENHAM and Chelsea face the threat of interest from the continent for the signature of Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho.
Moutinho has been heavily linked with a move to join former manager Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs, while Chelsea and Everton are also thought to be tracking the Portugal international.
However, Monaco are leading the chasing pack to secure Moutinho, with affluent Russian owner Dmitry Rybolovlev prepared to break the bank for the 26-year-old.
Paris Saint-Germain are also preparing a bid for Moutinho this summer, while former club Sporting Lisbon have also been credited with an interest in their rival's star man.
Porto are expected to lose the midfielder at the end of the season, and it appears he will have a clutch of clubs vying for his services when he does leave the Portuguese capital.
Tottenham were close to bringing in Moutinho in the last two transfer windows, and will hope to resurrect their interest in the player this summer.
Porto value their key asset at around £20m.
