Chelsea and Tottenham fall behind to Dortmund in race to sign Alvaro Negredo
TOTTENHAM and Chelsea will need to leap into action if they are to win a bidding war for Spain striker Alvaro Negredo.
Dortmund have been first to move with a £15.2 million bid
The Sevilla man is being chased by a number of top clubs and it appears Dortmund have been first to move with a £15.2 million (€18m) bid.
Spanish newspaper Marca say Negredo is being lined up by Dortmund to replace Robert Lewandowski, who could be on his way to Arsenal or Manchester United.
Everton tried to sign Negredo - who was part of Spain's Euro 2012-winning squad - in January but a move did not materialise after his agent described it as "impossible".
Tottenham "now have an eye on him" and Rafa Benitez has "asked Chelsea to sign the striker", according to Marca.
