Bayern Munich ready to pounce for Manchester City's Vincent Kompany
MANCHESTER CITY defender Vincent Kompany is being closely monitored by Bayern Munich ahead of the summer window.
Kompany angered Roberto Mancini after turning out for his country during the international break despite sitting out City's previous eight games due to a calf injury.
The Citizens skipper is well known to Bundesliga fans, having spent two seasons at Hamburg before making the City switch.
Mancini is planning wholesale changes, and though Kompany is the backbone of the team, it's not unthinkable he could leave.
Football website Goal ascertains Pep Guardiola is a long-term admirer of Kompany and would back a move by the board for the Belgian.
They also mention that Kompany has his heart on extending his stay at City, but Bayern are hoping to capitalise if his situation changes.
Kompany's side travel to Old Trafford for the Manchester derby on Monday.
