Blades’ Murphy offer not good enough
SHEFFIELD UNITED have been told they will need to up their offer for Jamie Murphy – after their initial £60,000 bid was turfed out by Motherwell last night.
The English League One side will increase their bid but don’t have the cash to meet Well’s £100,000 asking price.
The Blades are willing to offer add-ons if they gain promotion to the Championship and have offered some of their younger players on loan to push the deal through.
The problem is that Motherwell need money. They have several top players and their management team of Stuart McCall and Kenny Black out of contract in the summer.

The drop in TV revenue means Well are under pressure to bring in money but McCall doesn’t want to let his top players go on the cheap.
Another League One side, Bournemouth, are also interested in Murphy.
