Leeds 2 - Ipswich 0: Leeds fire Rafa Benitez warning
RAFA BENITEZ watch out. Leeds showed they are ready to cause an upset as they warmed up for Wednesday’s Capital One Cup showdown with Chelsea in style.
Jerome Thomas’ first-half strike and Paul Green’s finish after the break ensured Neil Warnock’s men swept aside Ipswich to power to a third straight home win.
Warnock said: “Chelsea’s a bonus. I’m more concerned with Middlesbrough (on Saturday) if I’m honest. I’ll probably play the reserves on Wednesday. Whoever I pick there’s been one or two good performances in previous rounds and I won’t play a full-strength side.”
I’m disappointed – but it was a far from routine 2-0 home win. We were excellent at keeping the ball
