Derby County 3 - Leeds United 1: Nigel Clough in eighth heaven
SUBSTITUTE Ben Davies curled in a fantastic third goal as Derby maintained their amazing record against bitter rivals Leeds.
The Rams’ victory was their eighth consecutive win against the Elland Road club.
Nigel Clough’s men were in front on 15 minutes when Conor Sammon slotted home coolly. Leeds sneaked an undeserved equaliser from Paul Green just before the break but Derby were back in front on 65 minutes when Jake Buxton slammed a low shot under Paddy Kenny.
Derby manager Clough said: “It was a very good solid home performance. We played some excellent stuff.”
Leeds boss Neil Warnock said: “The second goal was always going to be crucial. It lifted the crowd.”
