Nigel Adkins given until Swansea game to revive Southampton fortunes
NIGEL ADKINS will be given at least until Saturday’s match at home against Swansea to try to ignite a turnaround in the club’s fortunes.
Rumours were rife that Southampton were set to sack manager Adkins following their 2-0 defeat by West Brom on Monday. They are bottom of the league with one win from 10 games.
But indications are he will remain in place for at least this week – and he has been given the thumbs-up by midfielder Steven Davis.
Davis said: “He’s the man for the job. You don’t want to panic in this situation. He has done a great job getting back-to-back promotions.”
