Middlesbrough 1 - Bristol City 1: Malaury Martin lifts slack Boro
HOMESICK Boro fluffed their lines again at the Riverside despite Malaury Martin’s stunning leveller.
Tony Mowbray’s men edged a step closer to securing a Championship play-off spot as they battled back from Hogan Ephraim’s opener – a lofted finish just 13 minutes into his debut on loan from QPR.
Substitute Martin had been on for just 10 minutes when he hammered in his third goal of the season after 56 minutes.
But Boro, who have struggled at home, failed to find a winner against a City side reduced to 10 men for the final 15 minutes when Ryan McGiven was sent off.
Bristol manager Derek McInnes said: “Over the 90 minutes, Boro earned their point and so did we.”
And Boro boss Mowbray admitted: “We weren’t good enough to win.”
