Birmingham 3 - Middlesbrough 0: Hughton’s nifty fifty
BIRMINGHAM reached their half century – and are not out going full pelt for promotion.
This was their 50th game of the season – having started their Europa League campaign in July – and they showed their staying power by thumping fellow play-off chasers Boro.
A first-half header from Nikola Zigic and second-half strikes from Marlon King and Keith Fahey kept Blues’ challenge on course.
City boss Chris Hughton said: “It’s very tight at the top and that’s how it will be until the end of the season.”
Boro manager Tony Mowbray said: “We can bounce back.”
