Swansea new-boy Gylfi Sigurdsson's stepping up to the Ba
SWANSEA’S new signing Gylfi Sigurdsson aims to follow in the footsteps of close pal Demba Ba and become a smash hit in the Premier League.
Sigurdsson is set to make his debut in the FA Cup third-round tie at Barnsley today after completing his loan move from Hoffenheim, where he played alongside Ba.
The Icelander, who had a two-year spell with Reading from 2008-10, said: “Demba’s doing alright and has scored a few goals. He’s a good friend of mine who I speak to a lot. He faced Swansea not long ago and he said he loved the way they played football – they kept the ball for long periods.
“He told me the league is fantastic and he is loving it here. He has made a big impact and I want to do the same.”
