Man Utd lose race for Mateus Fernandes with midfielder set for Tottenham
Manchester United have reportedly lost the race Mateus Fernandes.
United have been battling Spurs for the midfielder's signature, but the Londoners appear to have won the race.
That's according to The Athletic, who claim Fernandes will join Spurs, for a club-record deal worth £85million.
Spurs finished 17th last season and only survived relegation on the final day of the season.
Fernandes was a bright spark in the West Ham side that was relegated to the Championship last season.
Chelsea eye move for La Liga fullback
Chelsea have reportedly identified Pep Chavarria as a potential replacement for Marc Cucurella.
That's according to the Evening Standard, who claim the left-back is under transfer examination by Chelsea.
The Blues lost Cucurella to Real Madrid earlier this summer.
The outlet reports Chelsea are looking at the Rayo Vallecano man, but insist he would be one of several defensive additions.
Julian Nagelsmann on Germany future
Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann has committed himself to the national team, but only if they want him.
Germany were dumped out of the World Cup by Paraguay on Tuesday night.
There have been calls in Germany for Nagelsmann to be sacked.
Speaking post-match, he said: "I'm available to stay if that's what the DFB wants. If they don't want me, they need to tell me. I want to continue.
“I'd be happy to prepare for the Euros and the Nations League. If they don't want me to, they need to say it”.
Harry Kane told to ditch Bayern and sign for Man Utd
Harry Kane has been told to leave Bayern Munich and join Manchester United.
The striker moved to Bayern in 2023, but has just one year left on his contract.
Barcelona are reportedly weighing up a move, but any advancement would have to wait until after the World Cup finishes.
Wayne Rooney has suggested United should register their interest if there's a chance to sign Kane.
He told the BBC: "I think everyone would have an interest. Listen, if Harry Kane’s not going to stay at Bayern Munich then I’d love him at Manchester United.
"If he’s listening: 'Harry, you’ve got Alan Shearer’s [all-time goals] record there… help get Manchester United back!".
Liverpool have three-man shortlist of Barcola and Diomande alternatives
Liverpool reportedly have a three-man shortlist of Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande alternatives.
The two forwards have been linked with moves to Liverpool, but fresh reports appear to suggest the move could be off.
Yankuba Minteh of Brighton is among the players mentioned as a potential alternative for the Reds.
Matias Fernandez-Pardo has caught the eye at Lille, while Said El Mala is also touted as a potential option.
Liverpool are looking to replace Mohamed Salah who left at the end of the season, while Hugo Ekitike's injury is still expected to keep him out until the new year.

Paris Saint-Germain unwilling to sell Bradley Barcola
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly unwilling to sell winger Bradley Barcola this summer.
It's suggested by The Athletic that PSG would prefer to move on alternative players.
Barcola has been linked with a move to the Premier League, most notably Liverpool, who are said to view him as a Mohamed Salah replacement.
The Reds were also keen on Yan Diomande, but it appears the Ivorian has chosen to join PSG instead.
There was a feeling that would open the door for Barcola to leave and come to the Premier League, although that no longer appears the case.
Arsenal learn Morgan Rogers price-tag as Aston Villa set out stall
Arsenal will have to pay a British record transfer fee to lure Morgan Rogers to the Emirates Stadium, as per reports.
Aston Villa are believed to want a fee in the region of £130million in order to part ways with Rogers this summer.
That's according to The Athletic, who suggest Villa view Rogers as one of the top five players in the Premier League.
As such, they'd be looking for a fee bigger than the £116m Manchester City are paying Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson.
Chelsea have also been mentioned in the conversation, while Rogers is currently away with England at the World Cup.
Man Utd hold talks with Marcus Rashford ahead of return
Manchester United's hierarchy have reportedly held talks with Marcus Rashford's camp.
The winger spent last season out on loan at Barcelona and there was a feeling the Catalan club would make the deal permanent.
However, that hasn't turned out to be the case, with Rashford now set to return to United following the World Cup.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that Rashford's camp have held 'amicable' talks with the United bigwigs, as they look to plot what's next for the forward.
It's suggested they are willing to let Rashford partake in pre-season training, which could open up a route back into the first team.
