Tottenham suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon as their relegation fears deepened. With several sides around them having lost on Saturday, Spurs were desperate to snatch at least a point at Craven Cottage in a bid to distance themselves from the relegation zone.

Harry Wilson broke the deadlock for the hosts just seven minutes in. Spurs were aggrieved, appealing for a foul on Radu Dragusin, but VAR ruled that no push had took place. Alex Iwobi coolly stroked a long-range effort in off the bottom of the post before Richarlison nodded home to halve the deficit. Spurs pressed hard in the closing stages but could only produce an attempt into the side-netting. Express Sport rates the Spurs players...

Guglielmo Vicario - 5

Powerless to prevent Wilson's close-range half-volley but ought to have handled Iwobi's straightforward strike from range better. His distribution was erratic throughout. Did produce an excellent save to thwart Emile Smith Rowe which elevated him a point.

Pedro Porro - 5

Restored to the starting XI and he attempted to create opportunities down the right flank. Absorbed numerous challenges throughout but found his defensive work challenging.

Radu Dragusin - 4

The pairing with Van de Ven simply doesn't appear to function. Neither commands the other or understands each other's positioning at any moment.

Micky van de Ven - 5

Disorganised at times as he attempted to overcompensate and found himself caught out of position. Produced an excellent block to deny Raul Jimenez though.

Archie Gray - 6

Uncertain and vulnerable at times down the left flank, losing Wilson for the goal and receiving no assistance for Iwobi's strike. Nevertheless, the 19-year-old's surge and left-footed delivery for Richarlison's goal was excellent. Gray attempted to galvanise the team in the closing 20 minutes and possesses more of a captain's mindset than many senior figures in this squad.

Conor Gallagher - 3

Unlucky to deflect the ball towards Wilson for the opening goal but was a square peg attempting to fit into a round hole on the right and appeared adrift.

Yves Bissouma - 5

Certainly not among Spurs' poorest performers but no genuine cohesion with Palhinha.

Joao Palhinha - 6

Returned to the midfield and fought throughout. The sole player who appeared to contest second balls in the centre of the pitch.

Xavi Simons - 3

Made no effort to tuck inside to prevent Iwobi shooting and he contributed very little before being withdrawn on the hour mark.

Randal Kolo Muani - 4

Had a half opportunity in the opening 45 minutes but was largely dominated by Bassey throughout the match.

Stopped tracking Iwobi back for the second Fulham goal but appeared more likely to create something in the opening 45 minutes than others. Deteriorated significantly in the second half and was a passenger at times.

Substitutes

Richarlison - 7

Amongst the goals once more after finding space to nod home Gray's cross. Gave Bassey a proper contest.

Pape Matar Sarr - 6

Struck an effort into the side-netting before normal time finished and at least ran towards the opposition goal.

Mathys Tel - 7

Injected positive energy down the left flank and played a key role in Richarlison's goal. Released Souza through on goal in the 88th minute.

Souza - N/A

Worked his way into the Fulham box but failed to make the most of his low cross. Attempted to drive the side forward alongside Tel down the left in the closing stages.

Kevin Danso - N/A

Introduced almost exclusively to deliver long throws.
