Arsenal transfer news: Arteta picks between Sesko and Gyokeres as bargain clause eyed
Express Sport brings you up to date on all the latest Arsenal transfer news.

Arsenal have waved goodbye to three players without making a permanent signing so far this summer, but the arrivals are not far off. Nuno Tavares has left the Emirates to join Lazio on a permanent deal, while Jorginho and Kieran Tierney have both entered free agency.
In terms of incomings, Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are hard at work finding a centre-forward and a left-winger, and central midfielder Martin Zubimendi is expected to formalise his move from Real Sociedad after the current round of international fixtures. With plenty to keep on top of, Express Sport brings you three of the latest transfer developments involving the Gunners...
Arteta picks between Sesko and Gyokeres
Since the start of the summer, Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres have been the two strikers most heavily linked with Arsenal. Berta is said to be an avid admirer of Sporting goal machine Gyokeres, while Arteta's fondness for RB Leipzig star Sesko is long-standing.
According to The Independent, Arsenal bosses have decided that Sesko offers the best overall package. The Slovenian international is five years younger than Gyokeres, and per the judgment of senior figures at the Emirates, he has a higher ceiling as well. Sesko's transfer fee could rise to £75million, which makes him more expensive than Gyokeres, but as a player five years earlier on in his career, he could accept lower wages than the Swede.

Bargain release clause eyed
Arsenal have made Kepa Arrizabalaga their primary goalkeeper target, according to The Athletic. The Spaniard, who cost Chelsea a whopping £71.6m in 2018, is available this summer for the value of his measly £5m release clause.
Although Arsenal may end up paying hefty wages for a player who would be expected to play back-up behind David Raya, club chiefs reportedly view his clause as a profitable market opportunity. And Arteta may be more willing to use Kepa in cup competitions than he was with Neto last season.
Rodrygo tops left-winger wish list
Much has been made of Arsenal's hunt for a player with the talent to challenge Gabriel Martinelli on the left flank. From Leroy Sane to Nico Williams to Morgan Rogers, a host of glitzy names have been linked to north London since the start of the summer.
But according to Sky Sports, Rodrygo is the club's 'top target'. The Real Madrid star is set for showdown talks with new manager Xabi Alonso over the coming days, after which Arsenal may have a better understanding of their chances.
