Man Utd team news: Predicted XI vs Bournemouth as Ruben Amorim rotates again

Manchester United travel to Bournemouth on Sunday for a Premier League match that can more accurately be described as a warm-up for their trip to Bilbao four days later. However, Ruben Amorim needs wins, and his side must pick up momentum ahead of their Europa League semi-final clash against Athletic Club.

The United boss rang the changes in the 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford last week, but should reintroduce some key players against the Cherries.

Andre Onana could do with a confidence-boosting display between the sticks ahead of his first European away game since his nightmare in Lyon.

Defence: Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro

Amorim will want to get minutes into the legs of Harry Maguire and Leny Yoro after both started the Wolves loss on the bench.

Noussair Mazraoui played the full match on the right side of the back three at Old Trafford and should continue in that role.

However, the Moroccan could move to wing-back with Victor Lindelof keeping his place or Tyler Fredricson making a second successive start.

Matthijs de Ligt is nearing a return but won't be ready to feature at the Vitality Stadium. Jonny Evans could be included on the bench as he was last time out.

Midfield: Dorgu, Casemiro, Ugarte, Amass

Mazraoui could move further forward because of the news that Diogo Dalot could miss the rest of the season with a calf injury.

Amorim needs a solution at right-wing-back, and he may be tempted to stick with Patrick Dorgu after his positive showing on that flank against Wolves.

That would open the door for Harry Amass to continue at left-wing-back, with Luke Shaw likely not ready to start games.

Casemiro watched the entire Wolves game from the bench and needs some minutes in the tank ahead of an almost certain start in Bilbao.

Amorim could ensure his partnership with Manuel Ugarte is in sync rather than starting Mason Mount, Christian Eriksen or Kobbie Mainoo.

Attack: Fernandes, Garnacho, Hojlund

Bruno Fernandes will undoubtedly start after reluctantly accepting a substitute role last time out.

Alejandro Garnacho is also in line to continue playing, given he is Amorim's only quick attacking threat in a game that will likely see United playing on the counter.

The Red Devils boss recently claimed that Rasmus Hojlund won't improve his goal record if he's not playing, brushing off suggestions of an omission.

Chido Obi is in contention for his first start but Amorim needs Hojlund firing ahead of Bilbao, given he is the visitors' only eligible striker.
