Wayne Rooney ends England's drought as Swiss are rolled over
WAYNE Rooney put his off-the-field problems to one side with England’s first goal in a fine victory in Switzerland last night – but still looked troubled.
Manchester United striker Rooney scored his first international goal in a year but kept his celebration decidedly low-key.
Theo Walcott was carried off with an ankle injury and England then missed a host of chances.

But England showed their superiority with goals from Adam Johnson and Darren Bent either side of a cracker from Switzerland’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
