Wayne Rooney's advertising deals in danger
WAYNE Rooney admitted earlier this year during a court case that Sir Alex Ferguson only allows him to have five sponsorship deals.
Last night, though, he was sweating over losing some or all of them.
Negotiations with Manchester United – his wages are set to jump from £90,000 to £140,000 – will not be affected, although boss Ferguson will want explanations.

United have no comment but a source insisted they will provide all the support they can.
Sponsors may not be so supportive, though, after the tarnishing of a player who is idolised by children. His football earnings are more than doubled by commercial contracts, said to be worth £6million a year.
He has a five-year deal with Nike, understood to be worth £1m a year. Drinks giant Coca-Cola also pay £1m while he earns £300,000 from computer games company EA Sports. Rooney has a tie-up with Mercedes-Benz and had a TV deal with Sky.
The £5m advance to write five books about his life is unlikely to be jeopardised, though. Last night an EA spokesman said: “This is a personal matter and we respect Wayne and his family’s privacy. Wayne continues to represent EA Sports.”
