Maarten Stekelenburg is not interested in leaving Fulham
Arsene Wenger’s search for a new goalkeeper has proved unsuccessful so far, with Fulham digging their heels in over his attempts to sign Mark Schwarzer.
Stekelenburg, 27, was one of the players potentially available for transfer at Ajax, with the Dutch club in need of cash for transfers of their own.
But Ajax’s qualification for the Champions League group stage means Stekelenburg is keen to remain at the club where he has spent his entire professional career.
Newcastle want to take Manchester City left-back Greg Cunningham on loan. But City are not keen on letting the Irishman, 19, leave until Aleksandar Kolarov returns from injury.
Millwall and Coventry are fighting it out to take Bolton’s teenage striker Danny Ward on loan.
Ward was expected to join Leeds this week but the deal collapsed when Simon Grayson signed Cardiff’s Ross McCormack instead.
