Chelsea have already reacted to Victor Osimhen disappointment with new agreement

Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson has agreed to a contract extension that will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

The Senegalese striker, who joined from La Liga team Villarreal last summer, scored 17 goals in all competitions last season in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge, including a memorable hat-trick against Spurs.

This season, he's already off to a promising start with a goal and assist in Chelsea's recent 6-2 victory over Wolves at Molineux and the Blues' only goal in a draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Despite the club bringing in forwards Marc Guiu and Joao Felix, Jackson appears to be manager Enzo Maresca's first choice. Former RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku, who has struggled with injuries since joining Chelsea, is also expected to compete for a starting position with Jackson.

That's after the Londoners were unable to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli. The Nigerian frontman has been exiled at the Italian club after failing to secure a move away. It appeared he might head to Chelsea but a move never transpired on deadline day last Friday.

According to The Athletic, Jackson's progress over the past year has been recognised by Chelsea with this contract extension, which is believed to include an option to extend beyond 2033.

Following a similar trend at the Blues, Cole Palmer extended his contract until 2033 back in August. A number of Chelsea players are now tied down to unusually lengthy contracts.

While most clubs typically offer a maximum of five-year deals, Chelsea have bucked the trend; Omari Kellyman joined on a six-year deal, Renato Veiga signed a seven-year contract and Pedro Neto also committed to a seven-year stint with Maresca's side.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea reignite their pursuit for Osimhen in the January transfer window when Napoli will surely be willing sellers given his current predicament.
