Chelsea target Victor Osimhen is said to be ‘very angry’ with his own club Napoli. The Nigeria striker is being pursued by the Blues as well as Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli ahead of the transfer deadline.

Osimhen has become one of the deadliest strikers in Europe in recent campaigns and has bagged 55 Serie A goals over the last three seasons.

And he has reportedly been told by Chelsea that he can secure a move to Stamford Bridge if he concedes on his wage demands.

Napoli are thought to be digging their heels in over their transfer demands for Osimhen, who still has two years remaining on his current deal. And according to L’Equipe, the 25-year-old has been very angry with his club in recent minutes.

Osimhen’s preference is to join Chelsea and all parties are trying to find a last-ditch solution to get a deal over the line. But the goalscorer doesn’t think he will be able to secure a move to west London before the summer transfer window closes.

Osimhen has been tipped to move to the Premier League for years, with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool previously linked with him. But Chelsea now appear to be in the driving seat if the ace does opt for a move to England.

According to The Sun, Al-Ahli agreed a deal to pay Napoli £67m in exchange for Osimhen but could now pull out after the Italian club raised their asking price overnight.

The Saudi Pro League team are also chasing the services of Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who could also head to the Middle East.

Osimhen is said to have wage demands of £500,000 per week, which would not be met by Chelsea. But the Premier League giants are willing to stump up a transfer fee if the player agrees to an incentive-based salary structure.

A move to Al-Ahli would net Osimhen a bigger salary due to clubs’ willingness to splash the cash on wages in Saudi Arabia.

But earlier this week, Osimhen's agent wrote on X: “Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club's decisions.

“As I said, it is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d'Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There is need respect and balance.”
