We'll be back with much more tomorrow as teams accelerate their plans for the summer window.

For now, take care!

Man Utd 'open talks' over new Bayern Munich star

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks to sign Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui.

United could be in the market for a new right-back this summer. Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been linked with a departure.

According to Sky Germany, Mazraoui is keen on a switch to the Premier League.

The Red Devils have also been in discussions with Bayern over the potential signing of fellow defender Matthijs de Ligt.

However, it is unclear if that deal will happen after Leny Yoro arrived from Lille in a £52m move.

Man Utd target still deciding future

Manchester United target Xavi Simons is yet to decide his future, according to RB Leipzig boss Marco Rose.

Simons, who shone for the Netherlands at Euro 2024, spent last season on loan at Leipzig from his parent club Paris Saint Germain.

A range of top European clubs have been linked with the attacking midfielder.

Leipzig themselves are hopeful of completing a return for Simons, 21.

"I am still optimistic that we can definitely keep our top players here because they want to stay here too because they know what they have in Leipzig because they have made good steps here," he told Sky Sports Germany.

"Xavi told me on the last phone call, 'Coach, I'm fine, I'm going on holiday now and I'm turning off my mobile phone'. And I haven't heard anything since then.

"It's the transfer period. And we notice that some clubs everywhere are still signing players, but they also have to let go."

Rose added: "We hope that the boy comes back. I said, 'We are still working on it, we are optimistic'. And somehow he is still one of our players, even though we have no control over him. For me, Xavi is an RB player, whatever the outcome."

Who should your club sign?

Premier League clubs are starting to make serious progress in the transfer market.

But teams are not done yet and there is plenty of business still to be done.

Let us know in the comments who your club needs to sign over the coming months.

Anthony Gordon 'integral' to Newcastle plans

Eddie Howe insists Anthony Gordon is integral to his plans at Newcastle despite rumours linking the winger with a departure.

Gordon was reportedly the subject of strong interest from Liverpool while he was with the England squad at Euro 2024.

But Howe cannot wait for the 23-year-old to return to training with Newcastle.

“I’d welcome him back with three arms if I had them,” Howe said when asked if Gordon will require some reassurance about his future.

“He’s such an important player for us, we didn’t want to lose anybody. Why would we want to lose our best players? We fought really hard to make the right decisions. In those last few weeks, it was very, very difficult.

“He’s an integral part of what we’re doing.

“He needs a bit of a break, he’s a had a really long season and the Euros will have been emotional for him as well.

“I’m confident he is OK. I think you can only judge Anthony on what he has given Newcastle on the pitch. He’s been committed.

”We’ve had no conversations over the summer where it has been fractious or negative. He’s always been the Anthony Gordon who has given absolutely everything to Newcastle and I want to make that clear to all our supporters.”

Antony plans to remain at Man Utd despite exit links

Antony wants to remain at Manchester United despite reports linking the Brazilian winger with a loan exit.

His agent, Junior Pedroso, insists that Antony’s ‘clear plan’ is to stay at Old Trafford.

“I see reports about potential exit on loan," Pedroso said. "Antony’s plan is clear, Manchester United. He wants to stay, he’s only focused on Man United. We already spoke about that with the club."

Trevoh Chalobah 'left out of Chelsea squad'

Chelsea have reportedly left academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah at home before flying Stateside for their pre-season tour.

Chalobah has long been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge.

Any fee received from his departure would amount to pure profit for Chelsea.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have left Chalobah at home in a bid to convince him to leave.

Liverpool 'close in' on first summer signing

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on signing Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo in a £55m transfer.

According to Japanese publication Sponichi, Kubo is set to sign a £12.6m yearly contract which would be a record for a Japanese player.

The 23-year-old is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League and has already started to learn English.

Szmodics waits for Ipswich breakthrough

By CHARLIE GORDON

Sammie Szmodics faces a nervous wait to discover whether his dream of playing in the Premier League will become a reality.

Ipswich Town are in talks with Blackburn Rovers over a move for the 28-year-old, but Express Sport understands a fee is yet to be agreed.

And there is some way to go before the move progresses to the next stage as Ipswich are nowhere near meeting Blackburn's £20million valuation.

Szmodics is keen to earn a life-changing move to the Premier League after winning the Championship's Golden Boot last season.

But Blackburn manager John Eustance is desperate to keep him and the club are unwilling to entertain low-ball offers.

Palace star edges closer to loan exit

by CHARLIE GORDON

Stevenage are winning the race to sign Crystal Palace academy product Ademola Ola-Adebomi on loan for the upcoming season, Express Sport understands.

Palace are prepared to let the 20-year-old gain more experience elsewhere after spending part of last campaign with League One side Burton Albion.

Ola-Adebomi could be back in the third tier in 2024/25 as Stevenage weigh up whether to push ahead with a loan move which the striker would be prepared to make.

League Two sides Fleetwood Town and Bromley have also registered an interest in Ola-Adebomi, who scored once in 14 senior appearances last term.

DONE DEAL: Aston Villa confirm Amadou Onana transfer

Aston Villa have confirmed the transfer of Amadou Onana from Everton.

The midfielder, 22, is reported to have signed for the Villans in a £50m deal.

Manchester United were also claimed to have been interested in Onana.

West Ham move for Crysencio Summerville

West Ham United have reportedly submitted an opening proposal to Leeds United for winger Crysencio Summerville.

According to Fabrizio Romano, talks have also taken place with last season's Championship Player of the Year.

But any deal is considered difficult due to Leeds' hefty valuation. AS Roma have also been mooted as suitors.

Riccardo Calafiori to Arsenal edges closer

A boost for Arsenal, it seems...

Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori is not part of the Serie A club's squad for their pre-season training camp.

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a £42m deal, and Calafiori has verbally agreed to join.

Aston Villa target Joao Felix

Aston Villa are reportedly eyeing a swoop for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix after accepting a £50.5m bid from Al-Ittihad for Moussa Diaby.

Felix joined Atletico in a £106m deal in 2019, but it hasn't worked out, and now Villa are circling ahead of their Champions League return.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan at Barcelona, scoring 10 goals in 44 games, and was at Chelsea for the second half of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Guardian claim that Villa are also interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, who has a £49m release clause.

Man Utd submit Matthijs de Ligt bid

Manchester United have made an opening bid worth £29m for Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to BILD.

However, Bayern have rejected the offer and are holding out for £42m, with negotiations ongoing.

The Bundesliga giants are said to need to sell players before strengthening Vincent Kompany's squad.

But United's first approach has been deemed too low.

Chelsea eye latest wonderkid

Chelsea are reportedly pushing to sign their latest Brazilian prospect after presenting their project to Gremio winger Gabriel Mec.

According to Fabrizio Romano, negotiations are ongoing over a deal for the 16-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut.

Given his age, Mec wouldn't be able to join Chelsea until he turns 18 in April 2026.

But the Blues are vying to fend off rival interest and add to the club's ever-growing youthful talent pool.

Liverpool target Goncalo Inacio

Liverpool have reportedly made Sporting Lisbon centre-back Goncalo Inacio their new transfer priority after missing out on Leny Yoro to Manchester United.

According to the Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha, the Reds are preparing an offer worth around £25m for Inacio.

However, they will likely have to cough up a higher fee, considering the 22-year-old's release clause is worth double that.

Sporting are said to be willing to compromise, though, which could lead to quick negotiations.

Leonardo Bonucci 'sorry' about Arsenal coup

Italy icon Leonardo Bonucci has suggested that Arsenal are sealing a coup by luring Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori to the club this summer.

The Gunners are reportedly on the verge of completing a £42m deal, beating rival interest from Juventus.

And Bonucci admits that he regrets his former club's failure to sign Calafiori, who shone for Italy at Euro 2024.

"Calafiori? I'm sorry about his transfer. I would have liked to see him at Juventus. He's a defender who's a little different to what we're used to seeing. He plays, has personality and fits in," Bonucci said.

"We're exporting a great player who will be a point of reference for the national team for the next 15 years."

PSG nearing Jadon Sancho agreement

Jadon Sancho is reportedly set to agree personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain ahead of a summer switch.

The 24-year-old has returned to full Manchester United training and featured in Saturday's 2-0 pre-season win against Rangers.

But his future remains uncertain, and PSG has emerged as a potential destination.

According to Foot Mercato, the Ligue 1 champions are on the verge of striking an agreement with Sancho.

They would then be tasked with tabling a suitable offer to United, who appear willing to keep hold of their No. 25.

Bruno Guimaraes swap deal

Manchester City are reportedly willing to offer Newcastle United Oscar Bobb or Rico Lewis as part of a deal for Bruno Guimaraes this summer.

According to the Daily Star, Newcastle are demanding £100m to part ways with Guimaraes amid interest from City and Arsenal.

But the Premier League champions are unwilling to meet that asking price, valuing him closer to £80m.

So they are said to be hoping to play up to Newcastle's interest in Lewis and Bobb to make a deal happen.

Although it's claimed that both are considered important by Pep Guardiola and may only be on offer on loan.

Arsenal have second bid rejected

Arsenal's improved second offer for Wolves' Dan Bentley has reportedly been rebuffed as Mikel Arteta looks to freshen up his goalkeeper's union.

The Gunners saw a £50,000 bid rejected earlier this summer for the 31-year-old.

And the Mirror report that Wolves have also turned down a £300,000 offer while they hold out for £1m.

Bentley is in the final year of his contract at Molineux but Arsenal are finding it complicated to lure him to north London.

Man Utd under investigation

Manchester United's summer swoop for 17-year-old right-back James Overy has hit a snag as FIFA reportedly investigates the transfer.

The Sun claim that United offered Overy a contract during a 16-week period in which he wasn't allowed to join another club because it would be considered a 'bridge transfer'.

He arrived in England from Australia with his family in March, signing for non-league outfit Newton Abbot Spurs while attracting rival interest from Everton and West Ham United.

United reportedly hope the teenager is allowed to join them but await FIFA approval.
