Premier League clubs are now free to do business after the summer transfer window opened yesterday, with deals set to go down in the backdrop of Euro 2024. Manchester United have uncharacteristically moved early in their pursuit of a priority target, while Liverpool and Chelsea are among the other clubs set to be active.

United have made their intentions to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite known after reportedly agreeing personal terms.

The Red Devils' opening £43million bid has been rejected out of hand, but they are expected to return with an improved offer to try and find a compromise below Everton's £70m valuation.

However, Erik ten Hag may be at risk of losing one of his most-prized assets amid reported heavyweight interest in Kobbie Mainoo.

Liverpool are preparing to back Arne Slot in his first transfer window at Anfield, and they are claimed to be eyeing a Chelsea star.

Chelsea themselves have already sealed one summer deal, and they remain active along with the rest of the Premier League.

Man Utd make bold start to INEOS's first transfer window

Manchester United have been busy over the past few weeks.

Despite not making a signing, minority owners INEOS are keen to improve Erik ten Hag's squad after retaining the Dutchman.

Wide-ranging reports claim that a £35m bid is set to be made for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Everton will reject the offer outright, although United will likely make further attempts to sign the youngster.

There is also interest from United in Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

Several players will be hoping to stand out in a bit to earn a move to England.

Chelsea 'unsure' on completing second transfer

Chelsea are reportedly ‘unsure’ about completing a £40m deal for Jhon Duran.

The Blues are reported to have agreed a fee with Aston Villa and held talks with the forward’s representatives.

However, the Guardian report that Chelsea are completing further background checks on Duran.

They are supposedly ‘unsure’ on formally giving the move the green light.

Chelsea have already completed the free transfer of defender Tosin Adarabioyo, who has left West London rivals Fulham.

Arsenal make their move for Amadou Onana

Arsenal have reportedly registered their interest in Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, Everton are seeking around £50m to part ways with the Belgian midfielder.

The Gunners made contact on Friday as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his engine room.

Virgil van Dijk talks rubbished

Liverpool have had no contact with Al-Nassr about Virgil van Dijk, according to reports.

Some claims earlier this week suggested that the Saudi Pro League side had opened talks about a summer transfer.

But the Liverpool ECHO report that club sources insist that no discussions have taken place and they are planning for next season with Van Dijk.

Man Utd bid rejected

Manchester United have reportedly seen their Jarrad Branthwaite bid rejected by Everton, as expected.

HITC claim that the Toffees want around £80m for their prized asset, but United's initial offer was £35m plus £8m in add-ons.

Branthwaite has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils but there is still plenty of work to do to agree a fee.

EXCLUSIVE: Leny Yoro prefers Real Madrid

Leny Yoro favours a summer switch to Real Madrid amid interest from Liverpool and Manchester United.

Express Sport understands an unnamed Premier League club has been unsuccessful with a £42m bid for the 18-year-old centre-back.

That's because he has made it clear he wants Real and hopes they can strike a deal with Lille.

There is thought to be some apprehension in Yoro's camp about moving to the Premier League at such a young age.

Man City identify Erling Haaland replacement

Manchester City have identified Girona striker Artem Dovbyk as a potential replacement for Erling Haaland if he leaves the club in the future.

Dovbyk shone for Girona - part of the City Football Group - last season, finishing as La Liga's top goalscorer.

According to HITC, Atletico Madrid are in talks to sign the 26-year-old. However, CFG want to insert a buy-back clause in his contract to allow them to swoop if Haaland departs.

Tottenham backed to sign Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur have been backed to pay the £60million it would reportedly take to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.

Former Spurs defender Alan Hutton has hailed Eze and believes Daniel Levy would have no qualms with making him a marquee summer addition.

"He just goes out and plays with a smile on his face, he plays with a lot of freedom, and he's got so much attacking quality," Hutton explained.

"He can score goals, he can assist, these are the type of guys you need, and he's been rewarded for his good form by being picked for the England squad.

"I think he could go and be a shining star, so £60million is right. You look at some of the prices that are getting banded around now for players that aren't as good, so I can understand that.

"If he's going to be available for that price, I think Levy will spend it."

Arenal keen on Nico Williams

Arsenal are keen on Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams this summer, according to reports.

The 21-year-old caught the attention of Europe's biggest clubs last season, registering eight goals and 17 assists in 37 games.

Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with swoops for the Spain international, who has a £42m release clause in his contract.

Football London claim Edu and Mikel Arteta believe he fits into Arsenal's transfer model.

Jose Mourinho eyeing Victor Lindelof reunion

Jose Mourinho and Victor Lindelof are reportedly mutually interested in a reunion at Fenerbahce this summer.

Lindelof was brought to Manchester United by Mourinho but looks set to slip down Erik ten Hag's pecking order during the transfer window.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomac, Lindelof has grown 'bored' of his situation at Old Trafford and is keen to reunite with his old boss.

Fenerbahce are said to expect to finalise a deal worth around £7m for the Swedish defender.

Chelsea have Jhon Duran reservations

Chelsea reportedly have reservations about a pursuit of Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran due to questions about his attitude.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a summer target for Enzo Maresca, and Villa are ready to cash in on him.

But the Guardian claim that Chelsea are conducting background checks after Villa raised concerns about Duran's attitude.

The Colombian's wage demands may also represent another hurdle to navigate past.

Liverpool in talks over Chelsea star

Liverpool's interest in Levi Colwill has spanned back to his days on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion, and the Reds are reportedly circling him again this summer.

According to HITC, Liverpool have discussed Colwill's availability with Chelsea after making a new centre-back a priority.

The Blues are said to have insisted he isn't for sale despite their plan to cash in on some homegrown talents this summer.

But the 21-year-old will reportedly seek assurances from new boss Enzo Maresca over his role in his plans.

Barcelona among Kobbie Mainoo suitors

Barcelona are reportedly keen to sign Manchester United and England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo after his sensational breakout season.

According to GIVEMESPORT, the La Liga giants are interested in adding Mainoo to Hansi Flick's midfield.

United are claimed to have reacted to Barcelona's interest by holding talks with the 19-year-old over a new contract with significantly increased terms.

The Red Devils may face a battle to keep Mainoo if his heavyweight suitors close in. However, he is expected to agree a new deal at Old Trafford.
