Tommy Fury left ex-Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino in stitches with his disastrous performance at Soccer Aid on Sunday evening.

The professional boxer took to the pitch for the World XI at Stamford Bridge, being brought on as a right winger on the cusp of half-time.

However, the 25-year-old wasted no time in showcasing why he is a boxer rather than a footballer to leave the crowd – and his manager – laughing at his misfortune.

Fury started his stint on the pitch with by attempting to deliver a cross, but his plan didn’t quite come together as the half-brother of Tyson ended up completely miskicking the ball and making contact with the floor.

The boxer saw the funny side of his blunder, though no one in Stamford Bridge appeared to find the mishap funnier than Pochettino. The cameras cut to the Argentine after the incident to show him falling onto ex-Tottenham star Robbie Keane as he could not contain his laughter.

The World XI coaching staff were then left with their heads in their hands just moments later when Fury was tasked with taking a throw-in – which many expected would have been within the realms of the boxer.

The unbeaten star did not truly understand how to take the throw in though, initially (and correctly) putting the ball behind his head before opting to roll back onto the pitch. The World XI were allowed to take the throw-in again though by referee Rebecca Welch, though Fury was not given the opportunity to right the wrongs of his moment of madness.

England, managed by Harry Redknapp, Frank Lampard and Robbie Williams, went on to win the match 6-3 and lift the Soccer Aid trophy for the first time since 2018. Steven Bartlett, entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den star, was the hero on the night for the Three Lions, bagging a second-half brace to put the game to bed.

Ex-Premier League star’s Theo Walcott and Jermaine Defoe were also on the scoresheet for England, with Joe Cole also scoring before Ellen White became the first female to ever score in the history of the event.

Former Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard and Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero were among the scorers for the World XI, with YouTuber Billy Wingrove scoring a consolation penalty late on.
