Jude Bellingham has shown maturity beyond his years by conducting an interview in fluent Spanish less than 12 months after joining Real Madrid. The England star spoke with a Spanish broadcaster during Los Blancos’ parade of their 15th Champions League trophy.

Bellingham played a key role in the final, setting up Vinicius Junior’s match-sealing goal in the 2-0 triumph over former club Borussia Dortmund. The 20-year-old has settled seamlessly into one of the world’s biggest clubs following his switch from Dortmund last summer.

He has embraced Spanish culture during his short time in the country, something some British players have previously been criticised for not doing. And his maturity in devoting time to learning the language has seen him speak fluently in a Spanish-speaking interview.

“I’m very happy because I have all my family here. Not my actual family but this team is amazing. Every day it’s a pleasure to work with them. I’m very happy here,” Bellingham said.

Bellingham added: “It’s incredible because I have the pleasure to play with the best players in the world and it’s easy when you play with them.

“My Spanish is good but not perfect so excuse me, I’m sorry but I try. For the last time this season, Hala Madrid!”

Bellingham was visibly emotional after the game, although admitted he had been okay until he “saw my mum and dad’s faces”.

"I've always dreamed of playing in these games," he continued in an interview with TNT Sports.

"When it gets hard at times you start to wonder if it's all worth it - but nights like tonight make it all worth it.

"It's got to be up there in terms of the perfect season. I can't put it into words, it's the best night of my life."

Bellingham has enjoyed a remarkable first season in Spain, playing in an advanced midfield role for much of the campaign. He scored 23 goals across all competitions and was the joint-third highest scorer in La Liga with 19.

The former Dortmund and Birmingham star is set to play a key role at the European Championship with England. The Three Lions are one of the favourites to win the tournament, with many hoping that Bellingham will replicate his form in Spain and lead his country to glory.
