Chelsea won their final five top-flight games to make sure of European football next season. As its stands, the team will take their place in the Europa League, although will be demoted to the Europa Conference competition if Manchester United beat Man City in Saturday's FA Cup final.
The decision has been vehemently criticised by Chelsea fans, who were finally beginning to laud progress following the lavish spending of owner Todd Boehly. And now Terry has taken to Instagram to underline his own apparent disappointment.
"Gutted to see Pochettino leave," he wrote, alongside a picture of his club's now former boss. "I just hope we don't sign or sell any players until we get a manager in."
The latter sentence appears a clear dig at Boehly at co, whose frenzied transfer policy has been widely perceived to have contributed to the squad's inconsistent form. And a reported bone of contention between Pochettino and the American centred around the lack of influence the ex-Tottenham and PSG man was given on transfers.
Pochettino was said to be against the potential sales of academy graduates Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah. That's despite the 2021 Champions League winners needing to offload players this summer in order to comply with FFP regulations.

Terry, 43, is a legendary figure at Stamford Bridge having spent more than two decades at the club as a player and 13 years as captain. During that period, he lifted the Premier League title on five occasions and won 15 major honours.
And only last month, he called for fans to show patience given the first-team squad contained a number of developing young players. “I think everyone’s got to be really patient on this”, he told Up Front with Simon Jordan.

“And I say this because I’m around it, I’m not part of the first team but I’m in the academy. Occasionally our boys go over, and you get to see some of these boys. There’s some quality players in that dressing room, but they’re babies. Honestly, they’re babies, they’re kids."
Pochettino has been linked with a move to Man Utd, amid increasing pressure on Erik ten Hag. Boehly meanwhile, will now have to appoint what will be the fourth full time manager to work under him since completing his takeover in May 2022.
