Scrapped football programme nets neary £10k.
A rare football programme from a Manchester United game called off following the Munich air disaster has sold at auction for nearly £10,000.
The match against Wolves on February 8, 1958, was postponed after the tragedy two days earlier.
Only a handful of the programmes were not destroyed. Retired engineer Peter Jackson, 67, kept one in a bedside drawer along with another from a later match, before selling them for £9,840 at auctioneers Hanson Ross, in Royston, Herts.
He said: “I’ve always known I’d have to let them go eventually.”
