The January transfer window is now only just around the corner with several teams up and down the Premier League table set to make some changes. The top of the table is still very tight between Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham with just two points separating them all.
But the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle, Brighton, Aston Villa and Chelsea will alll be hoping to claw their way back to compete at the top and January may be seen as a good opportunity to help their cause. Erik ten Hag is expected to make some new signings with Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to complete his 25 per cent purchase of United in the near future.
Another striker is reportedly top of United's wishlist with the club scoring just 13 goals in 12 league games. Ivan Toney is being touted as a potential signing, but he's also being linked with a number of other clubs with the Brentford striker seemingly keen on a new challenge once his suspension is up.
The Daily Mail claims Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi are under discussion.
Spurs are not only looking in the Premier League, with AC Milan's Malick Thiaw said to be an option.
Two players from the Portuguese top flight are also under consideration, with Morato of Benfica and Goncalo Inacio of Sporting Lisbon completing the list.
Manchester United icon Andy Cole believes Jadon Sancho can revive his career away from Old Trafford, but doesn't want to see the 23-year-old move to Saudi Arabia.
Sancho's conflict with Erik ten Hag looks unlikely to be resolved ahead of the January window and Cole believes a split would be best for both parties.
“He may have not reached the heights that he was expected to at Manchester United, but there are so many good players that have come to the club in recent years, and for whatever reason, it’s just not worked out for them. However, some of those players have ended up moving on and been a success elsewhere and that can be the same for Jadon.
“I’m sure Jadon will be a success at whatever club he decides to move to, but I can’t see him leaving Old Trafford for Saudi in January.”
Harvey Elliott believes Tyler Morton has the skillset necessary to make an impact at Liverpool in a potential boost to Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are being linked with signing another midfielder in the New Year, but club officials will be keeping a close eye on Morton's progress at Hull this season.
The 21-year-old has impressed at the MKM Stadium since joining on loan and made his debut for the England Under-21 side this past week, teaming up with Elliott on the pitch.
Elliott said: “I’m just happy that he’s doing his thing on loan and expressing himself the way I know he can. Hopefully we can share the pitch more often.”
Barcelona have reportedly earmarked Giovani Lo Celso as their top target to come in as a replacement for the injured Gavi.
Gavi suffered a horror ACL injury during the international break and looks set for long recovery period, leaving Xavi in need of a replacement in midfield.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona want Tottenham's Lo Celso to come in during the January window.
But Ange Postecoglou may need to rely on Lo Celso in January with both Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr heading off to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Gabby Agbonlahor feels Newcastle should do everything they can to try and sign England duo Kalvin Phillips and Aaron Ramsdale in the January window.
Both players are out of favour at Manchester City and Arsenal respectively and will want regular football ahead of the European Championships.
“I think that Newcastle will look at Kalvin Phillips. [Ruben] Neves would be amazing for them, he’s a top player, but I do think that Kalvin Phillips would make sense. Manchester City don’t really want him," he said.
“There’s a lot of pressure on Ramsdale but he has to go in January. Arteta has made it clear [who his first-choice is].
“I’m saying Newcastle. It’s Newcastle or Chelsea for me, because Pope’s a top shot-stopper but he can’t play with his feet."

The FA have confirmed that they've opened an investigation into Jermain Defoe's move from Tottenham to Portsmouth in 2008.
It's been alleged that an unlicensed agent was used to facilitate the £7.5million move.
Huge sanctions could be imposed on anyone found guilty with Luton deducted 10 points for breaking agent regulations back in 2008, although the FA took no action in the FA Case.
But English football's governing body have now reopened the case.
Fulham have now reportedly moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Andre Trindade from Fluminense in January.
The Brazilian midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield since the summer with Fluminense now happy to cash in on the midfielder after their historic triumph in the Copa Libertadores.
But the Evening Standard report that Fulham are in prime position to make their move after club chief Alistair Mackintosh took a flight to Brazil to hold 'face-to-face talks'.
Liverpool have reportedly decided against a move for Andre, leaving the door open for Fulham to make an approach.
