Tottenham suddenly U-turn on Harry Kane to Bayern deal as striker 'left stranded in a car'
Tottenham striker Harry Kane's move to German giants Bayern Munich is in jeopardy.
Bayern agree £95million deal with Tottenham to sign Kane
In a shocking turn of events, Tottenham are reportedly hindering Harry Kane's move to Bayern Munich and have 'revoked his permission' to fly to Germany to complete his medical at the Allianz Arena. Initial reports stated that the Englishman had been granted approval by Tottenham to complete his move to Bayern on Thursday night.
However, according to Sky Sports Germany, the deal is now in jeopardy with Kane currently sitting in a car at the airport waiting to receive permission from Spurs to fly. Tottenham accepted an offer made up of an initial £86.4million fee plus £17.3m worth of add-ons from the Bavarian giants on Thursday night.
Kane has since greenlighted the transfer and has travelled to the airport in order to fly to Germany and complete his medical on Friday before signing a four-year deal with the Bundesliga champions. The same publication claims that the Englishman is hoping to play in Bayern's DFL-Supercup clash against RB Leipzig on Saturday if the medical is completed in time.
But he won't be able to do that unless he receives clearance to fly from the north Londoners. Fabrizio Romano claims Tottenham are now asking to change some of the conditions in the deal and that is why Kane has not flown yet. Sky Sports also reported this morning that Kane was on his way to Stanstead airport but was forced to turn back after being told not to fly out with Spurs trying to change the deal at the last minute.
Spurs, meanwhile, have told Sky that the deal is still in place and Kane is free to fly to Germany for his medical. The 30-year-old wanted his future to be settled before Spurs' opening Premier League fixture against Brentford on Sunday and so Bayern had to progress with the deal quickly.
They had previously had bids of £60m plus add-ons and £70m plus add-ons rejected by Spurs, who were holding out for a nine-figure fee. But Bayern finally made the breakthrough on Wednesday when they lodged their latest improved offer.
Providing an update on Kane's future on Sunday after his side's 6-1 triumph over Shakhtar Donetsk, Ange Postecoglou revealed he was in "open dialogue" with Kane and the club."We know there's one deadline and that's the end of the transfer window," he said. "Beyond that, I'm in open dialogue with Harry and with the club on a regular basis. I've said to them that if the status quo changes then inform me.
"I don't need to know about the comings and goings in between. I just want to deal with what's in front of me because, irrespective of the outcome of that, I'm building a team here. I can't wait (around) for a decision either way to get going.
"We don't have the time or the luxury to do that. I'm working with what's in front of me. You saw today that Harry certainly is invested in what we're doing and we'll keep on doing that unless something changes."
