Man Utd transfer news: Erik ten Hag is hoping for a busy last six weeks of the summer window (Image: GETTY)
Manchester United are starting to put their foot down in the transfer market with around six weeks of the window remaining. Erik ten Hag has made three signings already and is keen to increase that number, as well as moving a host of players out of Old Trafford.
Signing a goalkeeper was a priority for Ten Hag and he completed that piece of the puzzle on Thursday. Andre Onana has joined from Inter Milan for an initial fee of just under £44million.
The ex-Ajax stopper joins Mason Mount and Jonny Evans as the two signings the Red Devils have made so far. Evans is only on a short-term deal at the moment but has the chance to impress in pre-season.
A fourth signing could soon be on the cards, with Morocco star Sofyan Amrabat and Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund both targeted. However, Ten Hag has not had it all his own way and we will bring news of a player who has rejected the chance to join United.
Express Sport will keep you up to date with the latest gossip, rumours and done deals at United on Friday, July 21 so be sure to follow our live blog below.
PSG could be about to hijack Manchester United's move for Rasmus Hojlund, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.
The French side could pay up to £55m for the Denmark international forward. PSG are also rumoured to be willing to offer Hugo Ekitike as part of a deal.
Erik ten Hag is keen to sign a striker this summer and United are ready to table a formal offer in the coming days.
Hojlund has already agreed personal terms ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford, but a move is yet to be completed.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has doubled down on his comments that the club’s hierarchy will decide the future of Mason Greenwood.
The 21-year-old forward remains suspended as the club’s board continue to conduct their own internal investigation into their player after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped its case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control in February.
Clubs from Italy and Turkey have shown initial interest in signing Greenwood if United feel he can’t return.
Speaking during United’s pre-season tour in America the Red Devils’ boss said he has given his views after previously speaking fondly of Greenwood’s football talents.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has seemingly supported Harry Maguire and claimed he is an ‘important player’.
The future of the England international has seemed uncertain after he was stripped of the United captaincy and Bruno Fernandes has been given the armband.
Ten Hag feels the move could benefit Maguire who is on United’s pre-season tour of America.
“For a player it is a disappointment, but it can also work out very good for the team and for Harry,” said Ten Hag
“Harry is an important player. We have four centre backs, we need four centre backs as a minimum and maybe even one extra. We are really pleased to have Harry in our squad.”

Juventus winger could choose Liverpool over Man United
Juventus winger Federico Chiesa would reportedly be ‘more inclined’ to make a move to Liverpool over Manchester United - if the Italian giants allow him to leave.
The 25-year-old has played 65 league matches over three seasons for Juventus but has been linked with a move away this summer.
Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Marco Guidi told TvPlay: “The player would be more inclined to sign for a top classic club, like Liverpool or Bayern Munich."

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says the club will do ‘everything in our power’ to buy a new striker this summer.
This comes after the Red Devils look to have missed out on main target Harry Kane due to Tottenham refusing to enter into negotiations. United have also been left annoyed by the £65m transfer evaluation of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
“We will do everything in our power to get the right man in,” said ten Hag.
“We know our targets and we will do everything in our power to get this done. It’s an area where we need improvement.

Manchester United interest in Harry Kane could be renewed next summer if the striker remains at Tottenham.
Sky Sports are reporting that the 29-year-old will not sign a new contract this summer, opening the prospect that he could leave for free next summer.
Daniel Levy refused to negotiate a deal with the Reds this summer but if Kane continues to refuse a renewed contract the Spurs star could walk away for free next summer.
However, the saga is unlikely to last into next summer with Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou wanting Kane’s future resolved quickly after two refused bids from Bayern Munich.

Former Manchester United marksman Louis Saha has warned boss Erik ten Hag about the ‘risk’ involved in signing Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund.
With the Reds in search of a new marksman Ten Hag has been told that by Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini that they may have to pay as much as £86.5million for the striker.
Saha has warned of the risks involved in such a huge transfer for the 20-year-old.
He told Paddy Power: “It’s always a risk when a player moves from another country.
“They might have all the talent, but it can take time to adapt. But, Rasmus Hojlund has what it takes.
“If you look at his record, he’s not as scored as many goals as he would’ve liked, but the style of play at Atalanta shows that he is capable of leading the line.”
