Manchester United hope to have Andre Onana through the door in time to join his new team-mates on their flight to the USA this week as the Red Devils head to New Jersey to face Arsenal. A £43million deal is now in place with Inter Milan for the Cameroonian, who is poised to replace David de Gea next season at Old Trafford following the expiry of the Spaniard's contract.
Yet United are also hopeful of adding extra quality to their frontline before the start of the 2023/24 campaign as they prepare for the visit of Wolves on August 14.
Meanwhile, Chelsea still look light on the ground following Mauricio Pochettino's mass clear-out and little progress has been made on incomings in the past few weeks which will now be of concern to supporters.
Arsenal could yet continue their shopping spree after wrapping up the signings of Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber last week after lengthy delays.
We could also hear updates from Liverpool, Newcastle and Spurs with all three sides expected to be active in terms of both incomings and outgoings.
Express Sport provides you with all the latest news, gossip and done deals from the summer transfer market on Tuesday, July 18.
Two unnamed English clubs are keeping a watchful eye on PSG midfielder Marco Verratti's situation, according to L'Equipe.
Atletico Madrid are talking to the French champions about signing the Italian midfielder, 30.
After 11 seasons with PSG, Verratti is set to move on this summer and Atletico are eager to bring him in for Diego Simeone.
And Get Football News France say Liverpool could be one of the two Premier League teams keeping an eye in case the Spaniards cannot agree a deal for the player.
Eddie Howe has admitted Allan Saint-Maximin is leaving Newcastle because he needs to sell players in order to buy new ones due to FFP rules.
Newcastle beat Rangers 2-1 in a pre-season friendly at Ibrox tonight and Howe said after: “Allan is in discussions regarding a move to another club. Nothing is confirmed and nothing is done. It is still early stages and that is why he isn’t here today.
“With Financial Fair Play you have to trade, otherwise for us this summer you're stuck and we couldn’t recruit players the other way. Maxi is a top player, we don’t want to lose him, we want to strengthen the group.
“But sometimes these things happen and we have to accept that and it is early to speak about Maxi in the past tense at Newcastle but our respect and love for him is the same as the supporters. We love him and the supporters love him. Certainly if he does go it will be a difficult moment for all of us.
“Sometimes these things have to happen for the club to grow and Allan to experience something different. We could make a stance not to sell Maxi, but FFP forces that to a degree. We could be in a position where we couldn’t recruit Sandro [Tonali] or any other player.”

Wayne Rooney is a big fan of fellow Englishman Declan Rice having given his say on Arsenal's new signing ahead of managing the MLS All Stars XI against the Gunners.
Rooney said: "I think he’s a huge signing for Arsenal - he’s a fantastic player with a great mentality, young.
"Arsenal have got a player at the top of his game and I think he’ll bring a great character in the dressing room. He could be captain of Arsenal.
"He’s a player who Arsenal needed and they’ve certainly got a top player."

Joao Felix - who spent last season on loan at Chelsea and has been tentatively linked to Manchester United this summer - wants to join Barcelona.
The Portuguese insists it would be a "dream" to swap Atletico Madrid for Barca in the coming weeks, though a deal may be difficult for the La Liga champions financially.

Bayern Munich are 24-0 up in a pre-season friendly against FC Rottach-Egern - and the match isn't even finished yet!
The scoreline was a ridiculous 18-0 at half-time at their training camp in Tegernsee.
The Bavarians are of course keen to sign Tottenham and England striker Harry Kane this summer - but Spurs fans are flooding Bayern on Twitter insisting they don't need him after all.
@TalkingTHFC wrote: "Looks like you're fine without a striker lads. You crack on."
While @KeithSpurs46 said: "Don't need Kane then do they!!"

Marcus Rashford has signed a new Manchester United contract until the summer of 2028 which will see him paid over £300,000 a week after the best season of his career.
The 30-goal striker said: “I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club, but there is still a lot more to achieve and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead.
“As a United fan all my life, I know the responsibility that comes with representing this badge and feel the highs and lows as much as anyone.
“I can assure you that I will give everything to help the team reach the level we are capable of, and I can feel the same determination around the dressing room. I couldn’t be more excited for the future under this manager.”
Mauricio Pochettino takes charge of his first Chelsea match - albeit a friendly - against Wrexham tomorrow and has been in a press conference to preview the match.
The Argentine however refused to go into detail about the Blues' pursuit of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo who has been the subject of two rejected offers.
The Ecuadorian is keen to move to Stamford Bridge but Chelsea are yet to present an offer close to Brighton's £100million valuation of the midfielder.
Pochettino said: "All the team are working hard to get who we want. I don't want to talk about specific names. It's not respectful."
It appears Allan Saint-Maximin is set to leave Newcastle with the winger not included in their squad to face Rangers in a friendly tonight.
The French forward has been linked with Saudi Arabia while the Magpies have been tipped to snatch Harvey Barnes from Leicester to improve their attack.
If Newcastle are to lose Saint-Maximin, it is claimed that they value the 26-year-old at around £40million.

Jonny Evans has re-signed with Manchester United on a short-term basis after training with his old club.
The Red Devils have announced the surprise free agent signing with the 35-year-old Northern Irishman linking up with Erik ten Hag's squad for their pre-season friendlies.
A statement read: "The academy graduate had been training with the Under-21s whilst considering his options, following his departure from Leicester City at the end of last season.
"As part of the academy training programme, he has also taken part in a number of first-team sessions and impressed Erik ten Hag and the coaching staff."

Al Nassr are closing in on the signing of Alex Telles according to Fabrizio Romano.
There’s now a verbal agreement in place between the two clubs who are waiting to exchange documents.
The Brazilian full-back, signed from Porto, spent last season on loan at Sevilla in Spain.
Al Nassr want to sign both Seko Fofana and Telles in the coming days and they also remain in the race for Aston Villa target Moussa Diaby of Bayer Leverkusen.
Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann thinks his old side should consider hijacking Chelsea's move for Moises Caicedo.
He told Lord Ping: "Liverpool need another midfielder if Jordan Henderson and Fabinho do decide to leave for what they're being offered in Saudi Arabia. Moises Caicedo is a brilliant player, he fits the profile of a 'ball-winner', what Fabinho has been doing for Liverpool for years.
"If there is an opportunity to hijack the deal from Chelsea, then I think Liverpool should go for Caicedo. He would be another great signing for Liverpool's midfield, alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister."
Norwegian journalist Fredrik A. Filtvedt says there is now strong loan interest in Amad of Manchester United.
Leicester and a host of other English clubs have already been linked with the Ivorian.
Filtvedt said: "There is great interest from many clubs around Amad Diallo. So far, no final decision has been made, but Amad himself will want to stay."
Diallo has previously outlined his desire to return to Sunderland if he is to leave Manchester United on loan again following an excellent spell with the Black Cats last season.
Manchester City have turned down a bid of £18m from Al Ahli for Riyad Mahrez according to The Mail.
City are aware that Mahrez wants the move to Saudi Arabia but they will not let the player leave for less than £30m.
Mahrez has won every competition up for grabs in English football and is a five-time Premier League winner with City as he seeks to embark on a new chapter.
He has already agreed personal terms with Al Ahli where he would team up with Roberto Firmino.
The Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are still open to signing another forward despite splashing £208m in the summer market.
The Gunners could therefore bring in a surprise new attacker before the close of play on September 1 although most do still believe the crux of Arsenal's business is done.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed Arsenal remain open to opportunities should the right one present itself, he said in Washington: “We will be alert. There's a lot of time still in the market.
"We'll have to see how things develop in the next couple of weeks. There's still time to do things - for exits as well."
The Mail are reporting that Manchester United are close to signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in addition to Andre Onana.
The Danish attacker is at the top of Erik ten Hag's striker shortlist and it's understood he will now be the main target of interest once Onana is formally a United player.
Hojlund wants to make the move which is yet to progress particularly with Atalanta currently demanding a premium.
But if the reports are to be believed, United could now get the deal over the line quickly despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.
The Evening Standard are reporting that Chelsea are set to submit a fresh £70m bid for Moises Caicedo this week.
That would still fall considerably below Brighton's £100m transfer valuation and that is unlikely to help Chelsea's cause as they continue to play the long game over their top midfield target.
Caicedo has been in South America and will be joining Brighton for the Premier League Summer Series in the USA which kicks off this Saturday when the Seagulls play... you guessed it - Chelsea.
The Blues are clear frontrunners for Caicedo and there is confidence he will be joining the club this summer but Chelsea must up their bid before they get this one over the line.
