Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has chance to rectify Mason Mount transfer mistake
Mauricio Pochettino can't allow Chelsea to repeat their Mason Mount transfer mistake in the coming weeks.
Pochettino states aims for Chelsea after taking over as manager
Mauricio Pochettino will attempt to rectify the mistake of allowing Mason Mount to leave Chelsea as he plots talks with in-demand defender Levi Colwill. The Blues boss faces the prospect of losing two of his most important players in the early stages of his tenure after Mount's £60million move to Manchester United.
Pochettino reportedly wanted Mount to remain at Stamford Bridge, despite a widespread expectation that he would depart after contract talks with his boyhood club collapsed.
But just days into his reign, the 24-year-old switched allegiances and will be a crucial part of Erik ten Hag's plans next season.
And now Colwill is on the agenda, with Liverpool among the clubs interested in luring him away from west London this summer.
Colwill's stock is sky-high after an impressive season on loan at Brighton and Hove Albion and his contribution to England's U21 European Championship glory.
But Pochettino is said to be readying discussions with the 20-year-old to ensure he stays put beyond the transfer window.

According to the Mail, Pochettino will hold face-to-face talks with Colwill once he returns to Chelsea for pre-season.
The Argentine hopes to present his plans for Colwill and listen to the highly-rated centre-back's thoughts.
Chelsea have already rejected a £30m bid from Brighton to sign him permanently after he helped the Seagulls seal Europa League qualification with a sixth-place Premier League finish.
The report claims Pochettino is determined to fend off interest, with Chelsea ready to put a bumper new contract on the table to convince him to commit his future to the project.

Pochettino has confirmed that he introduced himself to Colwill and wished him luck for the U21 Euros final against Spain on Saturday, which England won 1-0 to lift a third title.
And he revealed he expects Colwill and Young Lions team-mate Noni Madueke to join the Chelsea squad for the club's pre-season camp in the United States.
He said: "We spoke yesterday with Levi and Noni. One I know, Noni, from Tottenham, in the U18s. Of course, Levi, I didn't know, but I introduced myself to him. I wished them all the best tomorrow.
"It's true that, for me, it's difficult because it's Spain vs England [in the final]. I wish them all the best. We're waiting for them to be with the team. I think the day we will fly to America, they will join us."
